Here is one picture from each village we visited in New Mexico and Texas. I have lived in Las Cruces my whole life and the only one of these four villages that I’d ever really explored before was Old Mesilla. I found it really interesting that you could travel just 40 minutes and be in a completely different world where people were so different and their way of life much slower than the one I’ve gotten used to in Las Cruces. In one village the people would be weirded out by us wanting to take their picture and in the next they couldn’t wait to get in front of the camera. Each place is completely unique and having their own charm, some were used to tourists, others felt like they were hidden from the rest of the world. Each place having their own special ‘feel’ which made me so excited to be there and explore.  I hope to go back and explore these places more in the near future.
