SMALL TOWN GUY WITH BIG TIME DREAMS – SVNM: LA MESA
As you drive east of Las Cruces, New Mexico you’ll find several small villages filled with exciting people and beautiful scenery. Along these long desert back roads you’ll find the tiny community of La Mesa, along with some pretty eye catching people and things. Pictured next to his 1967 Chevelle: Jesús José Molina “Paita”. Born in Bachíniva, Chihuahua, Mexico – Jesus or better known as “Paita’’, moved from Bachiniva to Las Cruces, New Mexico in hopes of creating a better future for him and his family of seven. Paita found work with his father at the young of 16 at Stahman Farms located in La Mesa. Paita and his wife Manuela have raised their family in this small village within the last 50 years. Paita retired from Stahman Farms back in 2013 but ocasionally helps from time to time. Paita is my grandfather and someone I aspire to be like some day.
