I grew up on a ranch in Northeastern New Mexico. My entire life, I have been surrounded by wide open spaces. Moving to town for college has made me realize just how beautiful the country is and how powerful our thoughts become in silence.

Here is what I’ve learned from life’s ‘Quiet Moments.’

Focus on where you’re going, don’t dwell on where you’ve been.

It’s in these quiet moments that our lives truly begin.

We find what fuels our fire,

and run against the wind.

We chase after our desires,

and fuel our minds again.

We saddle up, it’s time to go. You and I make the perfect duo.

Look in their eyes. They know where your worries lie, yet embellish our strengths from within.

Absorb these beautiful moments, and your happiness will have no end.

  1. I’ve already critiqued your project so I won’t say much here.
    Except… well done!
I would like you to start thinking about doing some portraiture as it relates to your subject matter. It’s necessary. Engage these people. Pretend you’ve never been near a barn or ranch and try to show us these people. Show us city and suburban folk this culture through portraiture of the people who make it up. The work is incomplete with that.
