Antonio Gutierrez juggling a soccer ball at a near by park in East El Paso during one of our meet ups. Tony and I frequented a soccer court on our side of town for years to play pick up games but have resorted to passing and dribbling on street corners and grass fields in our neighborhood since the pandemic began.

Zaida Barron sits in the theatre room her and her family have been remodeling since start of the pandemic in March 2020. I was initially there to photograph her working in her home office, but she gave me a tour around the house as she explained her family had picked up some home projects as they’re now spending more time at home than ever before.

Here’s a self portrait of my morning routine. When thinking about how to photograph myself for this assignment, I figured I might as well take an intimate shot sense the only interesting change in my life since Covid is playing ball with Tony. I’ve picked up the habit of taking a long time to get ready in the morning sense I’ve got more free time before class sense I no longer have to commute.
