Research Museums The After Life
The traditional role museums have are to collect objects as well as materials of culture, religious and historical importance, preserving them by research into them. They are presented to the public as a story to help show the history of man and to tell a story of how things once were to the history of today. The purpose of this is to help educate as well as be used for the public’s enjoyment( Arinze, E. N.,1999).
The photos in the book were taken at the NMSU Wildlife Museum there web site is: http://web.nmsu.edu/~jfrey/wildlifemuseum.html. The Museum is now open to the public after being shut down for 5 years. Due to many biological associations that are associated with museums and academic institutions have soon experienced short falls of budget cuts, loss of staff and short falls in maintaining the specimens with in the resources. However Biological resources play a big role in human health and safety for museum collections help with a unique source of identification of vectors and reservoirs of diseases by stored tissue specimens(The Field Museum,2014). So the more visitors the NMSU Wildlife Museum gets the more of a fighting chance the Museum has to stay open.
Then the other half of the photos were taken at UNM at the Museum of South Western Biology. and If you want to check out there website its http://www.msb.unm.edu/
