What I like about this photo is the vibrancy of colors.

The light source is coming from the stars.


I would say he did capture the moment because of how he captured the stars.

The focus is purely on the landscape.

What I think makes this photo great is the background, the lighting.

You could make a image like this here in Las Cruces but I don’t think you could get this exact star trail though. Though you can make star trails here and go by one of those cow fences out by Dripping Springs Rd and Baylor Canyon Rd. You could use about f/2.8 – f/5.6 for the f stop. You can do HDR and fuse the photos together and you have to have the time for about 20-30 seconds for each photo.
