Ola-Marie Anderson lives alone on the outskirts of Roswell, NM. The house she lives in was built in 1975 by her husband, Frank Anderson, whom she had married at the age of 19 and had two daughters with. Frank passed away in 1995 from lung cancer, after which Ola-Marie began to care for a few stray cats that had wandered onto her property.

For a time, the number of cats she cared for grew from 7 to 75. She had names and specific feeding schedules for all of them and systematically had them all spayed and neutered to prevent their population from rising even more. Over the years though, sickness or wild predators of the countryside have lowered the numbers of her beloved cats back down to 6.

These days, Ola-Marie spends most of her time reading novels about the wild west, and playing cards every Friday with the local Senior Circle.

  1. This is a sweet poem.
I’d like you to do a little more. Do a holiday project on widows of the Llano (over there east of where you live).
    THAT is NGeo.
    Depth.
Your poem/photos are excellent. Now the question for Eleanor is, what are you going to do with all this? How are yu going to use all this? Who do you want to “tell your stories to?”
I love your work because your effort looks effortless which means you work really hard it.
    You’re a shooter Mz. E. Now what?
