Over petrol train carts.

Hatch seems to be an old “train station town.” Houses from the 40s may still be found around the place. Some of them have been repaired and still hold people living in them – others have just been abandoned. The town is smaller than Las Cruces and its houses and restaurants make you feel as if entering a time machine to the past. What I found to be the most interesting was the train area. Walking on the tracks and over the train petrol carts was quite a unique experience.

  1. Excellent image. Stunning, really.
Caption is OK….but go deeper. Research the town. I like “Old railroad town.” Infuse the story with context.
In the end a person has to decide if their photography is about them or about what they’re shooting. That’s the difference between an artist and a photographer.
I think it’s pretty clear where you’re at. Look at the work of Manuel Alvarez Bravo and, of couurse, Victor Cassasola (20th Century) and, Pedro Meyer, your country’s greatest shooters.
