FROM THE LINE
This series was shot on the Paso del Norte International Bridge. The international bridges are alive with people. People with purpose who move back and forth or remain at the top. The bridges are as alive as those that inhabit and walk over them. This is just one night of many.
Every day from the early hours of the morning to the stretching hours of the evening people make their way back and forth. However, there are those who go to the bridge but never cross. This man had a horrible injury and was asking for money to help with his expenses.
Another person who never crosses is this young woman. She works on the bridge earning money for her family by selling small items or asking those who are crossing for money.
For those who walk over the bridges these people are a part of their everyday lives. Many help and many walk by.
This place is serene but noisy, compassionate but withstanding, dark but lit, lonely but not empty, and those that spend a lot of time there become part of the structure with outreached palms either empty or offering goods.
