New Mexico NM Stories A Look Inside La Mesa Fernanda Teixeira February 23, 2015 10:30 pm Out of all the pets this particular family had, this little duckling was the cutest. Out of all the pets this particular family had, this little duckling was the cutest. A cat gazes eerily out the window at me during my adventure in la Mesa. The baby duck from the previous photo is held up by one of the family members in La Mesa. Many families in La Mesa live in the town for a majority of their lives. The women in this photo shared that their family has lived in the town for as long as they can remember. A single footprint is left behind near a home. The sun, which is obscured by the fence in the photo, begins to set and leaves a beautiful lighting in the town. Chopis is a popular bar and restaurant in town that many bikers attend. This women came with her husband and was kind enough to allow me to take a photo of her. A woman walks along side the canal in the town. Flowers begin to bloom, signaling the first signs of Spring in the town. A dog is fed a piece of bacon, at a family’s cookout after begging relentlessly. A container of oil sits outside of a seemingly abandoned house in the town.
