I think you need to “get dirty.” By this I mean get closer, make DECLARATIVE captures. If the assignment is “Yellow” crawl and get that sunflower screaming Yellow, not placing it in a wider landscape. I recognize the beauty of this image, though, and the caption really helps draw the viewer in. Finding the balance is always the issue. See what I mean.

I’m not arguing against “subtlety” but I’m saying to remember the point of the assignment which is to tune up your color “eye.” OK?
I might be nitpicking a bit. Your images are fine. I’m just trying to do the ole “Capa” advice: “If your images are strong enough you’re not close enough.”
