National Geographic
Driving through Las Cruces, you pass through a constantly growing city; whether you’re driving to work, school, home etc. You pass by art everyday and barely have a second to acknowledge the growing community of it. For this project, I chose to highlight (literally) graffiti throughout town. Mainly on the block of Espina, Solano, and Lohman you can find your favorite pop culture icons plastered on a wall; with the technique of the individual artist shining vibrantly.
I chose to do nighttime photography, I set my exposures and if it was too dark in the environment, I’d take two flashlights during the duration of the exposure and paint over the paintings.
Natiional Geo would not publish 5 photos of murals with nothing else to support it.
