ROUGH EDGES, SOFT SPIRIT
A gloomy Friday evening could not cloud the aura of Diana Lopez, 21, of Sunland Park, NM. She happily obliged when asked for her photo and provided a new laugh, smile and smize with every click of the camera. Lopez is a triple major at NMSU and studies Spanish, Women’s Studies and Psychology. From the get-go, her ability to make someone laugh does not go unnoticed. Lopez is a first generation student and uses her classification as a minority to motivate her strides towards success. A partial buzz-cut may lead you to categorize her as “rough,” but her spirit will convince you otherwise.
