As a photographer, my personal portfolio has grown a lot since I first started, I think the major part of its progress can take credit from the portraiture I’ve done, it has taught me to capture people and their characters; which is the primary reason I have chosen Richard Avedon (1923-2004). Just scrolling through a few images of his diverse portfolio, I feel as if I am not only getting to know his style as a photographer, but also getting to know the models as well. Avedon began as a photographer for the marines, shooting photos for ID’s, and then moving to fashion photography. His work is incredibly eccentric and wild, compared to average fashion photography which commonly can come off basic; he innovated the industry and made it his own. His photos tell a story and have the models life story written through picture.
