Yoga is a spiritual, mental and physical practice that originated in India. It is speculated that yoga was first practiced in the fifth or sixth century BCE. Despite it’s early beginnings, the practice of yoga has continued to rise in modern day American culture. In contrast from other forms of exercise, yoga offers more than just physical strength–it provides mental wellbeing, alleviation of stress, and self-control.
