Chalk the Block is an annual activity for the whole family that takes place in Downtown El Paso. El Paso Chalk the Block began in 2008 as a one-day sidewalk chalk art competition with about twelve artists that took place at Arts Festival Plaza next to the El Paso Museum of Art. However, after the great turn out CTB has quickly become one of El Paso’s premiere events and the largest FREE three-day public arts festival in the Southwest region bringing in over 32,000 people annually.

CTB has become one of El Paso’s biggest events bringing local, national and international artist to become part of and demonstrate their talent. CTB is a family friendly environment that helps bring families together for an unforgettable evening. CTB has everything from live dance and theatrical performances, a sidewalk chalk art competition, live bands, art and food vendors, access to various activities and exhibits.
